As senior adviser, campaign manager, and spokesman for the former President of Afghanistan, Najib Azad and his family were forced to evacuate their home in August 2021. After living at army bases in Germany and the U.S. for six months, they were able to settle here in central Wisconsin. Mr. Azad has written a book about the experiences of his family and the other Afghan refugees they traveled with. He will be here to speak about his experience and answer questions. He will also have copies of his new book, Beyond Evacuation: From the Himalayas to the Statue of Liberty, to sell and sign.
