Theresa Kaminski, who earned her PhD in history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializes in writing about scrappy women in American history. Including this year's Queen of the West: The Life and Times of Dale Evans, she is the author of five books. In 2020, Theresa published Dr. Mary Walker's Civil War: One Woman's Journey to the Medal of Honor and the Fight for Women's Rights (Lyons Press). Prior to that, she wrote a trilogy of books on American women in the Philippine Islands during World War II. For more than twenty-five years, Theresa taught at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, offering classes on American history, American women's history, and historical research and writing. Theresa will speak about her new book and answer readers’ questions.
