The Art and History of Newspaper Comics

The Portage County Public Library will host a talk by Rob Stolzer on the art and history of newspaper comics at 11am on Saturday, May 17 at the Stevens Point Branch, 1001 Main St.

Stolzer, Professor Emeritus of Art at UW-Stevens Point, will discuss newspaper comic strips from the early 20th century to present, talk about the social history and artistic innovations in this important art form, and also share pieces of original comic strip artwork from his own collection for attendees to view up close.
